Day 1 – Arrival in Athens
Upon your arrival at Athens airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2 – Corinth Canal, Nafplion, Mycenae, Olympia
After breakfast, we travel by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal, where we’ll make a short stop. We’ll continue to drive on and will next visit the Theater of Epidaurus, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then we proceed to the Town of Nafplion, where we’ll have a short stop, before continuing on to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. We continue our journey, travel through the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis, to Olympia, the “Cradle of the Olympic Games”. Overnight in Olympia.
Day 3 – Olympia, Bay of Corinth, Nafpaktos, Itea, Delphi
In the morning, we visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the Archaeological Museum. We will then continue our drive, traveling through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until we reach the magnificent bridge crossing the Bay of Corinth from Rion to Antirion. Passing by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea, we arrive in Delphi, the center of the Hellenic world, known as the “Omphalos” (Navel) of the Earth”, where you spend the night.
Day 4 – Delphi to Athens
This morning, we proceed up the slopes of Mt. Parnassus, through a majestic and beautiful landscape to the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Then we visit the Treasury of the Athenians, Temple of Apollo and the museum containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the legendary athlete, Aghias. Afterwards, we motor back to Athens. (B)
Day 5 – Departure from Athens
Free time until transfer to airport for your final flight back home.
